Research In Motion Limited (USA) (NASDAQ:RIMM) is gearing up to launch its latest BlackBerry 10 within few days. In addition RIM is also pushing hard to convince and attract customers through advertisements campaigns. The big advertising push also includes a thirty seconds, Ad to run in between Super Bowl XLVII.
Although a number of smartphone market players have done it before during the Super Bowl but for RIM’s its first major Ad for the upcoming big game of BB10.And all viewers wonders about the approach RIM’s is planning to take.
Many analysts are curious about RIMs plan due to CMO Frank Boulben latest email release that says that RIM may have much more in its mind than just launching the new smartphone in the market. Said statement has also invoked the main possibility of a new tablet launch from RIMS as well. One must remember RIM’s PlayBook that wasn’t quite a success that RIMs hoped for but many wonders that something is up in its sleeves that hasn’t been leaked so far. May be the Ad also give some hints on RIM’s tablet ambitions with uncertain terms.
But one thing is very clear that entering into tablet business would be a real gamble for RIM. The Ad rate for famous Super Bowl XLVII is around $4 million. But RIMS has the best chance here to invest and gamble as the Canadian company’s stock report suggests that they performed well with good profit in last quarter.
Belkin that is renowned for PC accessory market is now promoting its networking hardware for past few years. Belkin latest routers are aimed at home users so the company through Linksys can get an edge in the small office and home market.
Belkin is expected to perform better with Linksys. Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) on the other hand clearly couldn’t.
RIMM share soared 0.91% to $17.70 in pre-market today, Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) shares 0.62% to close at $21.15 in last session on Friday.
