The Mario band of games have for long been a dear companion for many a young children. In fact, had it not been for this decisive game, children would never have gotten hooked to video games in the present Generation.
The once 2D Mario game was increasingly becoming difficult for designers to revamp and innovate in. Because of its strict genre restriction and the many years of cult following, trying new things, thinking out of the box with such a game becomes virtually impossible. Nevertheless, in an attempt to usurp the Mario games makers, Nintendo has released another New Super Mario Bros 2 title that should at least keep the magic of such games alive.
The review for New Super Mario Bro 2 does not look all that promising because it keeps reminding folks of how easy it is to play through and lose interest. In fact, opening chapters of this installment seem to remind players of past titles and maybe this is the case of maintaining respect for the title’s genre. As one progresses further, innovations start creeping into the picture with many new levels and ideas incorporated into otherwise familiar settings.
Reviewers say that in the second half of the game, the changes and tweaks made by designers become more evident. With secret areas revealed, greater momentum pushing players through the story and delightful yet creative ideas taking over, it becomes a fun run for anyone new or old to the Mario saga.
Unfortunately, just like the recent Mario releases seen elsewhere, the mechanics of movement in this feel a lot looser and difficulty is at best suited to beginners. Nevertheless, those who love Mario and his gang, the New Super Mario Bros 2 should serve as an excellent pass time. It may not be a game changer but it still serves the basic purpose of old fashioned entertainment.
