Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen are rumored to be in talks about signing for a new Scary Movie film remake.
Scary Movie 5 will follow four parody films, the last of which was released in 2006. Lohan has unofficially been confirmed for the reboot, but has yet to sign official contract papers. Meanwhile, Sheen is set to return for the fifth film, despite being killed off in the last installment.
Decisions to add Sheen as a returning cast member are most likely down to the resurgence of interest in him after his high profile pubic breakdown. Lohan has also undergone somewhat of a public meltdown, with several stints in jail under her belt. Both stars seem to be working hard to reboot their troubled careers, with Lindsay also recently scoring the lead role in an Elizabeth Taylor biopic.
Scary Movie 5 is thought to centre around three dancers, competing for the converted lead role in a new stage production. Sounds familiar- well the storyline is expected to be a spoof of last years Oscar-winning ballet film Black Swan.
High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale has controversially been signed on for the film as the leading lady, she is perhaps looking for a more mature role than her previous family-friendly Disney work. Anna Faris has been ruled out of a return for the fifth film, however it is still unknown whether previous cast members Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra or Leslie Nielsen will make an appearance.
Malcolm Lee will be directing Scary Movie 5 alongside previous director David Zucke. The film is due for a release in April 2013.
