iPhone by Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) Is Most Selling Device At Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) With 63 % Of Total Gadgets Sold

Apple IncToday in an official statement the prominent US based network carrier Verizon Wireless disclosed that it experienced healthy sales from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPhone in the most recent quarter. In the total sales results of smartphone gadgets for Verizon Wireless nearly 63 % accounted to Apple’s iPhone for the quarter. iPhone indeed accounted for a heavy number of smartphone sales for Verizon during the last quarter.

On Wednesday company revealed its quarterly earnings report as well.

Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) said it sold nearly 9.8 million smartphone gadgets for the quarter. Among them iPhone accounted 6.2 million units.

Verizon saw a significant growth in its iPhone sales as compared to prior quarter. Company earned healthy revenue out of nearly 7 million total gadgets sale for the third quarter last year. For the period it sold nearly 3 million Apple’s devices.

Out of these sales of iPhone nearly half were with 4G LTE availability. Fran Shammo, the chief financial officer of Verizon is indeed very happy with iPhone 5 success. Company said the strong sales were mainly driven by holiday season.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) earned a healthy boost in its gadgets sale due to the massive success of iPhone 5. In the third quarter of 2012 iPhone 5 sales accounted for 31 % of total sales however the fraction was around 50 % for current quarter.

A considerable number of iPhones, including 4S and 5, were sold by Verizon Wireless during fourth quarter of 2013 as it did in the same period in 2012. Nearly 4 million devices were sold in fourth quarter 2012. Those strong sales were indeed during third quarter. Customers could also order the new gadgets for the sum of fourth quarter.

Apple stock moved up 0.24% to $506.09 in VZ stock surged 0.42% to $43.12 in pre-market today.
