Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) has been granted permission to uphold a new chip plant in Kildare by Ireland’s An Bord Pleanala. Intel is planning to create the plant in Leixlip (a Kildare campus) keeping in mind the concept of next gen 14nm microprocessors.
January 2011 was the time period when Intel has officially declared to initiate the workout plan over the project of US$500 million construction at Leixlip tech campus. The plan further consisted of the company’s Fab 14 service provided in Leixlip.
During the time period, Intel had promised to build in 200 executive jobs and 850 construction job. According to the sources of SiliconRepublic, Bord Pleanala had been found to permit the company to carry out the further details with the ongoing development. Jobs facility for the workers was however estimated to rise after wondering a lot, as has Intel’s investment cost.
Further reports claim that the US$4 billion plant would be requiring approx 3500 construction workers for two long years and 800 executive employees in management after the project has become successfully completed. Among the new facilities, a latest semiconductor wafer fabrication facility of measurement 244000 sq m, a 3 storey major fabrication service provision along with a 101000 sq m floor surface area and different other facility support buildings for chemical storage & water treatment etc.
INTC shares rose 0.05% to end at $20.96 in last session on Friday.
