But due to this attempt of many notebook vendors, throughout the world top-5 notebook brands collectively suffered a drop of 20% plus in April, according to the data provided by Digitimes Research.

The research also suggest that top-3 original design manufacturer (ODMs) collectively had a decreased a 14% due to opting for their next-generation models.

In top 3 Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ), Lenovo and Acer has less than 20% drop in their shipment for April, while other exceed  20%, but many companies also show some underperformed.

This activity from many of the notebook venture result in the fall of shipments of notebook industry in the second quarter. This fall may show 15% decrease in shipment of notebook, as compare to Q2 2012, but a sequential increase of 3%, according to the data of Digitimes.

But some of notebook vendors are opting some other venture, because Lenovo is going to buy International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM)’s server business, even though the two companies are to agreeing on the price point of the acquisition. But Digitimes Research believes Lenovo, because there is no better choice available for Lenovo in the server market.

Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) in last trading session end up at $20.64 by rising 0.05% with the average volume of 22.30 million shares.  In after hours trading HPQ rise 0.10%.

The stock price saw week’s volatility of 1.80% and month’s volatility is 2.49%, while the stock price of the company is moving up from its 20 days moving average with 0.30% and isolated negatively from 50 days moving average with -2.57%.

The stock price saw week’s volatility of 1.50% and month’s volatility is 1.45%, while the stock price of the company is moving up from its 20 days moving average with 0.12% and isolated negatively from 50 days moving average with -1.86%.

Looking at Analytic Ratios; the price to sales ratio of IBM in past twelve months was calculated as 2.18 and price to cash ratio as 18.75. Company return on equity ratio is recorded as 83.28% and its return on assets is 14.25%, and return on investment is 21.79%.
