Brand New Micromax Offerings – Pixel A90 And The Canvas A100

Its that time of the year when Micromax launches its latest offerings in the world of smart phones. Once again, it has stuck to the Android platform with the Pixel A90 and Canvas A100 smartphones. The former is graced with an AMOLED display and the latter will utilize a large 5 inch touch screen. Both the phones shall run on Ice Cream Sandwich android platform and will offer dual sim operation. Micromax is one of the few mobile makers that provides dual sim support on an Android platform.

The A90 is graced by a 4.3 inch AMOLED screen that offers a profuse 800 X 480p resolution at 262K full color for stunning visuals. This is aided by a dual core chipset running at 1GHz and a dedicated graphics unit for individual application performance.

On the rear panel of the A90 is a 8MP CMOS camera and a LED flash. Settings range from 4X zoom to night mode. It is 3G enabled and has a front camera of 0.3MP quality for conferencing. Although, there is no news about its internal memory, it is touted to handle 32 GB expansion via a MicroSD slot.

The Canvas A100 on the other hand will use a literal canvas with a large 5 inch screen. Its backup time is amplified by an impressive 2000mAh Lithium ion battery and should manage 5 hours talk time with ease while giving 180 hours of standby. At the back, itis endowed with a 5MP camera and flash. This moderately priced phone offers everything from GPS, 3G, Wi-fi to Bluetooth. As mentioned earlier with the A90, the Canvas A100 has an undisclosed amount of internal space, which may become its crux should Micromax decide to practice cost cutting techniques here.

While the Pixel A90 is graced with impressive features, the A100 Canvas is made for the budget conscious consumer in mind. Both excel in terms of hardware and features but differ in the price just because of the screen and camera quality at the back. Accordingly, the A90 is priced higher than the A100 at Rs. 12, 990 while the latter is priced at a modest Rs. 9,999.
